From the "Lazy But Genius" files: Redditor ShutUpLori figures out a way to take out the trash from a second story, without going around the entire building.
The unique layout of ShutUpLori's building makes it difficult to take the trash out more traditionally. A little DIY to the rescue:
[If the] kitchen is on the second story with a deck that has no stairs leading down to the garbage cans. . . Tie fishing line to the garbage can lids and attach the other end to the deck. When its time to take out the trash pull open the lid and drop in your trash bag or recyclables. Oh, and have good aim.
Silly? Definitely, but its hard to argue with the results. Obviously, I wouldn't try this from any higher. I'd love to see a modification that lets you add a second line to slowly lower the trash and let go of it once it's safely in the can. Now that would be clever.
