What was your favorite moment in Crazy House?

Obviously the server is not what it once was or dead as you might also call it. We might one day see it rise from the ashes but until then let us talk about great memories we've had. TF2 was released 5 years ago. A lot of us were here from the beginning and some of us came along in the middle. In 5 years we've had people have epic breakups, meet ups, hook ups, stalkers, and great games so lets hear some stories.

I pre-ordered TF2 and had just came from a bitter sweet ending with a Counter-Strike community I had long been an admin with. I was a huge fan of TFC and really hoped this game would take off like TFC did. I had the full intention of always being a server hopper and never once being a part of a community or a "regular" anywhere. Being both a long time TFC and CS player I was split 50/50 on what I thought of a respawn timer. There weren't many instant respawn servers but it always felt like the game flowed much better (vanilla TF2) with instant respawn. At the time there were two voogru servers here and I can't for the life of me remember their original names but I started playing on the server that most of the "regulars" didn't play on. I caught on fairly quick that the other server was full more often than the one I was playing on and the competition was much stronger. Not long after being there and loving the attitude of all the players and admins I signed up on the forums and you guys know the rest.

It is hard for me to decide at any point in the 5 years I've played here which was my favorite moment. But one that really stands out is very early on in the game before any class update occurred. We were playing badlands and most of us were still learning the new mechanics of TF2. I want to say it was technogeeky playing as a punching heavy (bare fists) and unfortunately I can't remember the names of the other players. A medic was pocketing him and he went on what was probably a 10 kill spree of punching both while ubered and not ubered. We won the game literally from most of everyone on the server laughing our asses off about the whole ordeal. It isn't too rare to see a punching heavy now especially with all the upgrades and unlocks. But back then it was a new concept. Nobody feared a heavy who didn't have his main gun out. Nobody knew if the left fist or right fist done more damage. In fact a lot of people were under the impression you had to keep alternating the fists to do the damage he was doing. But most of all it was a purely innocent game. It had not been around long enough for anyone to get a big head or ego about the game. It 100% fun and I believe it was the game that made me decide to donate.

I think a particular special shout out goes to Chrono who organized most of the "Regular Nights" and voogru who was on standby for those first few to make sure it went without a hitch. Those were always great nights. I remember if Chrono said regular night started at 7pm you were on at 5pm just to make sure you had your slot. Donators couldn't boot off another donator so once the server was full it was full.

If anything I regret how I treated some of you in the time we were all here. During my month of being banned I had a large amount of support and received messages from a lot of you. It was an overwhelming feeling but I couldn't help but think of how that might have been even larger had I been a better player and person to some of you. I hope some of you guys are still out there and might throw out another memorable moment too.
