vendor relationships | Bride Consultants | for those in the wedding ...

Last week I touched on the importance of connecting with vendors, and I want to expand on that today.

There are obviously a variety of ways a bride can find you, but for me personally over 60% of bookings I make are through vendor referrals. Obviously, this makes my heart explode with happiness that I have made an impression enough for vendors to refer me to their clients! I am eternally grateful!
Here is my advice on how to make long-lasting relationships with vendors:

1.? Treat others the way you want to be treated? ? the age old rule. I have talked before about walking in love, and I 100% stand by it. Let the vendors know how much you appreciate what they are bringing to the wedding, how excited you are to be working with them, and how much you love their work. You know, the things you want others to say to you!

2. Be thorough and follow through in the planning process. Your job is to keep all informed. If the bride sends you a photo of her dress, don?t just assume she will send one to the florist {who values seeing that}. Take the initiative and forward that on over to the florist! ?As the wedding day approaches, be on top of everything. Get out the timeline?to the vendors, communicate where to park /unload if they have not been to the venue, and communicate any last minute instructions. Don?t give them the opportunity to contact the bride about anything ? your job is to field those questions!?Only allow your self to be associated with a top notch finished product?that goes a long way!

3. Follow up with photos to all vendors associated with the wedding day. Just as you treasure photos from the wedding day to showcase your work, so does every other vendor. I let the photographer know that I generally send the images out to the vendors, which photographers love, {one less thing for them to do!} and it gives you more value in the long run. Just be sure to include photography credit!

As time goes by, you will become really good friends with many of these vendors. I absolutely LOVE my vendor friends and it makes being in this industry that much sweeter.
